SDGFilmfest was formed in response to a film project run by LSPR and DMU in March 2018.
Participants recognised the sheer scope and importance of global challenges such as equality, the environment, human and civil rights, and the need to raise awareness of these issues within Developing Nations and the West to facilitate their achievement.
SDGFilmfest has been funded by the Global Challenges Research Fund at DMU and by the London School of Public Relations, Indonesia. As the project grows, the film festival will expand to cover additional territories as part of its wider mission and reach. Future festivals are anticipated to take place in Malaysia, China, Thailand, Nigeria and India over the next five years.
Public submissions will be welcome following the initial launch at Bali Microdoc in April 2019, though the initial festival is open to students from these two institutions as part of a collaborative project.
Please check the Film Festival page for details of forthcoming events, and the Submissions page for guidelines on entries.
